Oil-in-Oil emulsions of stearic acid dispersed in silicone oil with enhanced energy storage capability for heat transfer fluids

چکیده
Non-aqueous phase change emulsions are very unknown and promising multifunctional fluids consisting of materials dispersed in carrier fluids, both being oily phases. The oil-in-oil allow the possibility using same medium for latent heat storage transport under more extreme pressure temperature conditions. In this paper, stable composed stearic acid with a melting point 68–71 °C silicone oil have been developed. Stearic acid-in-silicone emulsion samples different concentrations were evaluated by analysing their thermophysical properties, viscous viscoelastic behaviour microstructure. Emulsion properties below material greatly influenced concentration disperse phase. Thus, as lowered, well-developed three-dimensional network crystalline structures interconnected each other was formed. Furthermore, physicochemical thermal stabilities examined proved several mechanical–thermal cycles, withstanding than 100 cycles calorimeter. results indicate that an attractive candidate energy applications enthalpy 10 wt% 22.32 J/g.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Oil-in-oil emulsions stabilised solely by solid particles.
A brief review of the stabilisation of emulsions of two immiscible oils is given. We then describe the use of fumed silica particles coated with either hydrocarbon or fluorocarbon groups in acting as sole stabilisers of emulsions of various vegetable oils with linear silicone oils (PDMS) of different viscosity. Transitional phase inversion of emulsions, containing equal volumes of the two oils,...
متن کاملHeat Transfer in Oil-Flooded Screw Compressors
Thermodynamic efficiency of the compression process in oil-flooded screw compressors depends greatly on the oil-gas heat transfer process. The amount of heat transfer is a function of many parameters such as mode of oil injection, oil inlet temperature, etc. This paper describes a mathematical model to calculate this heat transfer, assuming that the oil is injected in the form of non-interactin...
متن کاملIntraventricular Silicone Oil
Intracranial silicone oil is a rare complication of intraocular endotamponade with silicone oil. We describe a case of intraventricular silicone oil fortuitously observed 38 months after an intraocular tamponade for a complicated retinal detachment in an 82 year-old woman admitted in the Department of Neurology for a stroke. We confirm the migration of silicone oil along the optic nerve. We dis...
